This fountain, located in DuPont Circle, Washington, DC, is just about a two-block walk from my home.
Around the world, in cities everywhere, grand fountains may be found. Typically, a fountain may be located at the entrance to a fine hotel, inside the lobby of an office building, in the food court of a major shopping mall, or even in the backyard of a home. Wherever a fountain may be encountered, "Nothing says class like a fountain"! I use this statement in a rather playful and joking way, as I actually find many "water features", (as I have heard them called), outside a home to be somewhat tacky. However, they don't have to be. I'd like to show a few of my favorite fountains, from around the world, in an effort to provide inspiration and prevent the installation of fountains depicting little boys taking a "sprinkle", from appearing in the backyard or front lawn of any beautiful home. When it comes to the installation of a "water feature" I would urge anyone to please choose wisely or consult with a skilled landscape architect/designer before proceeding. Enough said.
