D r a g o n Accessories.

I love the use of dragon motifs in Asian-Inspired design. That is probably why I am fond of these three decorative pieces from Ralph Lauren's Fall 2012 "Shanghai Luxe" Home Collection.
The collection boasts a stunning green pen shell watch box with antique silver plate dragons. The box would look lovely placed without any additional clutter on a bedroom dresser or night stand.

A black desk objet made of 24% lead crystal would add drama and sophistication to the right desk top. The black porcelain dragon dessert plate, with it's gold dragon motif pattern would make a stunning statement at the dinner table. The dessert plate even has a matching cup and saucer.

While all three designs are beautiful, I would only choose to use one of these accessories in a home. That is the way to convey just how special the piece is. I think I am leaning toward the watch box. It is just so unique! It would be a magnificent jewel piece in my bedroom.

Eclectic Home Offices.

I am a fan of eclectic design. I love mixing the old with the new. It's fun to twist things up in order to add create a design that is interesting and thought provoking. Here are a few examples of home offices that caught my attention.

PJBJR ID Custom Dining Table. For Sixteen!

It is not everyday that a request comes through for a dining table that will seat up to sixteen people comfortably. There are not many dining tables out on the market that are to my liking. Because of that I decided to design and have custom produced the dining table shown above. It is my first piece of PJBJR custom-designed furniture and one that I am very proud of.

The table is constructed from solid mahogany with a flamed mahogany table top. The table top has a stunning natural pattern. It provides texture and fluidity to the table and contrasts nicely with the straight lines. Around the table base and stretchers I wanted to add an inlay of nickel-plated metal to provide a strong accent to the table's shape, size and silhouette.

Shown above are snapshots of the table while in production as well as the finished product.

"Skyscraper Style" Table Setting by PJBJR ID

The Metropolis buzzes with excitement while Goldfish swim quietly in glass cylinders around the table center. The towering centerpiece of flowers, grounded in a Baccarat crystal vase full of lemons, is removed from the Karges dining table just before a late dinner begins at Ten.
