Last night, Megan and I attended the book signing celebration for the new Domino Book of Decorating at the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams store on Fourteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC. On hand for the festivities was one of the book's authors, Domino Magazine Style Director, Dara Caponigro, as well as furniture designer and store owner, Mitchell Gold.

The book, like the magazine, cracks the code to creating a beautiful home, bringing together inspiring rooms, how-to advice and insiders' secrets from today's premier taste makers in an indispensable style manual. Cows Come Home.

Direct from High Wycombe, the furniture-manufacturing center of England, the 300-year-old Windsor chair gets a new twist. Ercol Furniture's solid-ash version features turned construction, hand-joined details, and natural finishes that use no harsh chemicals and produce minimal waste. A clear-lacquer finish is offered along with five colors. Upholster it in Marimekko's Kevätjuhla bovine printed cotton. It would be great to see these whimsical chairs in a country-inspired kitchen, or farmhouse dining room.

Fashion designers have recently submitted sketches of inaguration dress designs inspired for President-elect Barack Obama's wife, Michelle Obama. The sketches, submitted to Women's Wear Daily, were graded by the publication. Below you will find the designer's dress design, and the grade assigned to the dress.
